The following specifications are designed to assist you in acquiring a FALLS® Motor Grader Cable Snow Wing or its equal. Differences in manufacturing designs
are acknowledged. The dimensions within the specifications are intended
to indicate the size, type, and quality of unit desired. |

Dimensions:

Overall length shall not exceed________________.

Moldboard:
|
Moldboard shall be smooth rolled design. Moldboard and moldboard reinforcement shall be constructed of not less than 8 gauge high strength carbon steel. Moldboard shall be reinforced across the full length by two (2) double formed box sections; the one section shall be overlapped by the other and shall be welded together otherwise reinforced for rigidity. The discharge end shall be additionally reinforced with 1/2" diameter round bar. The bottom moldboard support structure shall be constructed of not less than 1/2" x 7" high carbon plate, M1044 or equal, ribbed and reinforced at the bolt holes.
Moldboard shall be rolled to a radius of 19-1/4" ". This radius shall be consistent from toe to heel. Weight of moldboard with cutting edge shall be approximately 1200 pounds. |

Lift
Mechanism: |
Control of wing moldboard shall be hydraulic. Lifting cable shall be a minimum 1 6,000 pound burst strength. Both heel and toe of moldboard shall be full free floating.
Minimum front lift height shall be 54"
Minimum outer lift height shall be 104" |

Mount
Assembly: |
Pivot bolt shall be not less than 1-3/4" diameter. Front wing post or mast shall be located ahead of tandems and behind motor grader moldboard. Wing post shall be located in such a fashion as to permit full articulation of the grader in both directions with the wing in the operating or transport position. Wing post shall be positioned to provide maximum grader blade angle. Front wing post shall be constructed of T-1® steel or equal to insure flexibility and impact resistance in sub-zero conditions. Front wing mast shall incorporate a tubular slide for smooth operation. The columnar tube shall be 4140 alloy steel tubing or equal. Front post shall incorporate a chain or other such device to set the lower limit of the toe of the moldboard.
Rear mast shall have manual height adjustment providing a minimum of three (3) fixed positions. Rear mast shall incorporate a safety chain to retain the push arm and wing in the transport position. |
