The following specifications are designed to assist you in acquiring a Falls® Scara-Lift™ Front-Mounted Scarifier or its equal. Differences in manufacturing designs are acknowledged. The dimensions within the specifications are intended to indicate the size, type, and quality of unit desired.

1. Front-mounted scarifier shall be heavy-duty in design. Top parallel arms shall be minimum 11⁄2" (38mm) thick x 3" (76mm) wide. Bottom parallel boxed arms shall be minimum 11⁄2" (38mm) thick x 3" (76mm) " wide with additional reinforcement provided by structural steel tubing. Connecting pins shall be minimum 11⁄2" (38mm) diameter.
2. Scarifier system shall be designed to attach to the motor grader head plate by means of not less than 11⁄2" (38mm) thick steel plate. Steel shall be grade A-36 or better. Hitch shall be bolted to the motor grader head plate with minimum grade 8 steel bolts with hardened washers.
3. Scarifier toolbar shall provide for not less than nine (9) scarifier teeth. Five (5) teeth shall be provided as standard equipment. Full scarifying width shall be 48" (1.22m). Tooth spacing shall be 51⁄2" (140mm). Scarifier shall provide for 12" (305mm) of digging depth.
4. Scarifier system shall be complete with minimum 31⁄2" (89mm) diameter x 24" (.61m) stroke double-acting cylinder providing approximately 31" (.79m) of hitch travel. Hydraulic cylinder shall have a minimum 2" (51mm) diameter chrome-plated rod. Hydraulic cylinder shall be rated to not less than twice (2x) the working pressure of the motor grader hydraulic system.
5. Total weight of scarifier head, hydraulic cylinder, and mounting system shall not be less than 1950 lbs (886 kg).
6. Scarifier shall be Falls® Scar-A-Lift™ or approved equal.
